Mike Brant (1 February 1947 - 25 April 1975) was an Israeli singer and songwriter who achieved fame after moving to France. His most successful hit was "Laisse-moi t'aimer" ("Let Me Love You"). Brant died by suicide at the height of his career by jumping from a window of an apartment in Paris. Gael Faye (born 6 August 1982) is a Rwandan-French singer, rapper, and writer. He was born in Bujumbura, Burundi of a French father and Rwandan mother. He emigrated in France at the age of 13 escaping from the Burundian civil war. He wrote a book about it, Small Country (Petit Pays), a semi-biographical book. It was first published in France in August 2016 by Grasset, and has since been translated into 36 languages.
