Sony continue with their Depeche Mode 12-inch box sets with Songs of Faith And Devotion: The 12" Singles, an eight record set due for release in October. This numbered limited edition follows the pattern of previous sets, although is relatively straightforward in that it replicates the two 12-inch singles originally offered in the UK for each of the four single releases: 'I Feel You', 'Walking In My Shoes', 'Condemnation' and 'In Your Room'. So no promo vinyl or 'third' 12-inch singles this time around.

From their earliest days as a band, Depeche Mode have championed 12" vinyl, embracing the format's singular power and potential for innovation. The 12" single allowed the band to explore new sonic possibilities while the tactile physical beauty of real-world packaging gave Depeche Mode room to develop a sophisticated and commanding design aesthetic. Depeche Mode used their singles discography as a means of offering left field remixes, rare B-sides, standout concert performances and other exclusive delights for fans. The Depeche Mode 12" Singles Series will continue over coming years, with plans to release boxes containing the singles from each of the band's albums in similar deluxe audiophile-grade collector's editions.

Many of these tracks are difficult to find on compact disc. In fact, one song, Are People People?, had been completely unavailable in digital form. As these Boxes are no longer produced and there was only a limited run, they fetch anywhere between (US) $150 to $450.
