It might be into its 11th series but The Voice’s UK edition still has the power to stir. A fortnight ago, Olly Murs’ spontaneous rendition of Sweet Caroline in tribute to his late friend (and former X Factor co-host Caroline Flack) left him, the studio audience and no doubt many viewers at home visibly emotional – not least when he blew a kiss and pointed to the sky. Now, as the search for singing talent continues with another round of blind auditions, attention turns once more to the hopefuls who must rely on their vocals alone to make the famous four hit their buttons and rotate those red chairs.
