The idea for an entertainment band came up in 1976 at a club evening at the Uetendorf sports club. The Calimeros were then founded by Roland Eberhart, Kurt Wyss (â June 2013) and three other colleagues. At first they only played at festivals and celebrations, but had established themselves in a few years so that they recorded their first album Sommerwind in 1983. With the song You Are Like the Stars, written by Eberhart, it contained her most famous piece to this day. In 2008 it was nominated in the television program The Greatest Swiss Hits in the Home & Wanderlust category.
