The band consists of vocalist Karly Hartzman, guitarist Jake Lenderman, lap steel player Xandy Chelmis, and drummer Alan Miller. Wednesday was formed in 2017 as Karly Hartzman's personal songwriting project.

Wednesday is an American coming of age supernatural horror comedy television series based upon the character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and Tim Burton, it stars Jenna Ortega as the titular character, with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Gwendoline Christie appearing in supporting roles. Four out of the eight episodes are directed by Burton, who also serves as executive producer. The series premiered on Netflix on November 23, 2022.
