Wolfe Tones

Info
The Wolfe Tones are an Irish rebel music band that incorporate Irish traditional music in their songs. Formed in 1963, they take their name from Theobald Wolfe Tone, one of the leaders of the Irish Rebellion of 1798, with the double meaning of a wolf tone - a spurious sound that can affect instruments of the violin family.

40 tracks over 2 CDs of some of the songs that made them famous. The internationally famous quartet always gave it 100% on rousing vocals and equally rousing playing and knew how to pick the 'punters' songs. These recordings might well be from the 1960s but that only goes to highlight the power and passion in the original sessions. Guinness all round!
